The last of the first four Confederate types that were printed when the capital was still in Montgomery, AL. Issued from Charleston on July 1, 1861. Penned inscription of Confederate Assistant Treasurer B.C. Pressley seen on verso. PCGS notes Repairs, although they are hardly visible except upon detailed inspection. The Cleo Collection example that we sold a year ago graded PMG EF 40 with pinholes and sold for $23,500. An iconic Confederate type destined to find a satisfied new owner.
