Plow in end panel at right. Blue 50 counters top left and right. Signed by William C. Sibley, Assistant Commissary of Subsistence. Colonel John K. Jackson was commander of the 5th Georgia Regiment that this note is attributed to. The regiment saw action in the Battle of Shiloh in April of 1862. It also spent time in Alabama, Florida, Kentucky and South Carolina. The unit suffered heavy losses at the Battle of Missionary Ridge near Chattanooga, Tennessee in November of 1863. A significant Confederate scrip note and one of few we have seen. Repairs can be seen as mentioned by the grading service though all of the printed design features remain bold.
