Attractive silver gray with some luster and spare toning highlights of gold and bright blue. Some light hairlines are noted. This type produces a far better central strike than previous designs of this denomination. While Restrepo terms this issue only "scarce," Burnett knew of only one example of the 1873-M 5 Decimos with the Barre head.
