1933-D Oregon Trail Memorial. FS-801. Tripled Die Obverse. MS-66 (PCGS). CAC.,This mostly silver gray example has blushes of light golden iridescence to soft satin luster. Most, if not all, 1933-D Oregon Trail Memorial half dollars were struck from an obverse die that was prepared using different hubs, which resulted in tripling along the lower left border. This feature is most pronounced on the letters in the word HALF; tripling is also evident near the right border on some of the letters in the words STATES and AMERICA. Some 1934-D half dollars of this type display similar tripling.,From the A.J. Vanderbilt Collection. Acquired by gift from our consignors mother in the late 1930s.,
