1852 Franklin Pierce. DeWitt-FP 1852-1. White metal. 41 mm. MS-63 DPL (NGC).,Brilliant surfaces are boldly reflective close to the central device and through the legends on the obverse, while a bit of scuffing is noted in the more open fields. The reverse is far better preserved. Still, the frosted design features stand out in pleasant contrast to the fields. A restrike from around 1860, similar to the Lewis Cass piece offered earlier by the same maker. John Ford did not own an example in this composition.,From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens. Earlier ex NASCA, June 1980, lot 1146.,
