Another extremely elusive 5 Pesos from Medellín, likely the finest known survivor of the issue. Strong luster persists on both sides, flashy and reflective at the rims. The surfaces are rich yellow gold and particularly choice, with none but the most minor marks. A tiny lamination is present above 6 of 8,064 on the reverse, another natural flaw between OM of COLOMBIA, a couple similar spots where the rim is a bit crude. Essentially perfect for the grade, a magnificent piece. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins.<p>From Stacks sale of the Mortimer Hammel Collection, September 1982, lot 775.
