1852 Braided Hair Cent. N-12, 13. Rarity-1. Grellman State-c. MS-64BN (NGC).,Somewhat intense light golden olive and steel patina is accentuated by bold mint luster on both sides. Traces of soft blue-green and rose are also seen when examined closely. A couple of small spots are noted on both sides with those in the hair and right of the bun being the most noteworthy. The very late state of the dies with heavy flowlines and a prominent crack from the bust point to the dentils just to the lower left of Star 2. Grellman notes this crack as extending "weakly from star 1 to dentils" but it is quite sharp on this piece.
