1909 (1916) American Numismatic Society Abraham Lincoln Birth Centennial Plaque. Bronze. 73 mm x 102 mm. Miller ANS-24, King-302, Baxter-300. About Uncirculated.,Die engraved by Jules Edouard Roine, edge stamped WHITEHEAD - HOAG with serial number 30 (of 100 examples struck in bronze). The fields exhibit mottled chocolate brown and caramel patina. There are only the slightest hints of friction on the devices. The reverse has some minor verdigris, probably resulting from the original antiquing process. These medals were initially struck in 1909, the centennial of Lincolns birth, but for some reason not clear to present day numismatists, they were not offered for sale until 1916.
