1830 Capped Bust Half Dime. LM-10. Rarity-6. VF-25 (PCGS).;A pleasingly original example with blended pewter and olive-gray patina blanketing both sides. Uniformly bold VF detail is evident on both sides, the reverse free of the extreme softness of strike at the eagles talons often noted for examples of this variety. Early die state with no evidence of cracks on the obverse. This elusive die marriage was first reported by John Marker in 1975 and widely publicized in 1986. Since then, however, precious few examples have been attributed, making the present offering a significant one for the half dime variety enthusiast.
