1933年10美元 PMG Suberb Gem Unc 67 EPQ。This note often referred to as "The King of Small Size", is one which needs no introduction as virtually every dedicated small size collector aspires to eventually own one. Even with a population which would seem high for a "Rare," note this piece gets the benefit of my previously stated comment of incredibly heavy desirability which is especially so with this stunning Gem note.
The present example is of quality that has no rivals as it sits atop the population report for either PMG or PCGS. Of the six PMG 66EPQs graded, we sold one last year at our July Baltimore sale for a staggering $70,500. This catalogers favorite trait of this particular example is punch through embossing, which creates a mirror image of the overprints when looking at the reverse. This is not to overshadow the other strong features however, such as the lovely margins, near perfect centering and precise ink clarity. This series differs from the far more common 1934 series notes with a Treasury seal at left and the absence of a blue "10" counter. Also the wording "PAYABLE IN SILVER COIN TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND" as seen on this note was reworded to "IN SILVER PAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND" for the later issues. It is hard to imagine a finer example to ever surface.Estimate: $25,000 - $35,000.
