cf.KM-Ts5. EXTREMELY RARE, POSSIBLY UNIQUE. Uniface striking of the pattern Half-Crown listed in Krause as KM-Ts5, but lacking any indication of the piece being a MODEL. Exhibiting clearly British origins and iconography, the design is a significant departure from both the then current reverse in use in 1926 and the adopted reverse eventually first struck in 1927. Edge reeding is present on only the upper portion of the edge adjacent to the obverse, with the balance exhibiting a plain edge adjacent to the blank reverse. The matte finish appears to have antique-like qualities, but upon close inspection the coloration is uniform and even with only minor patina variations across the surfaces of the coin. Fully deserving of the exalted SUPERB GEM PROOF grade, the coin is the ultimate companion piece for the unique Crown pattern also presented in this sale. NGC PROOF-66 MATTE.
