Fr-5; KM-3. From the Nuestra Senora de la Luz (Our Lady of Luz) shipwreck, which broke up in a storm in 1752 off the coast of Montevideo killing all aboard. The coin is essentially as struck, with slight strike weakness seen in the central devices but no evidence of actual wear. Close inspection of the luster in the obverse fields reveals no breaks, and the coloration between open and protected areas of the fields remains even and consistent, something not seen on coins that have actually circulated. Regardless of the true technical grade, the coin speaks for itself with stunning vibrant luster, launched up off a near perfect flan.NGC AU-58.
