QOCHO DYNASTY: Anonymous, 9th-13th century, AE cash (3.07g), cf. Zeno-19360, Uighur inscription iduq yarliq yurisun ("circulated by order of the Iduq", i.e. the Uyghur leader) around central square hole, uniface, VF, R. The Kingdom of Qocho (Gaochang Huihu or Xizhou Huihu in Chinese) was established by Uyghurs in the 840s. Its capital Gaochang was also the site of an earlier Sinicized kingdom, which issued cash coins bearing the inscription Gaochang Jili (Hartill-14.136).
