Extremely Fine.32 mm x 68 mm. 5.50 grams total weight, unmarked as to metallic composition or fineness. Pin back marked on front 1781 NEW YORK 1815. The back of the badge, within two points of the star, is inscribed with the numbers 6646 left, 816 right. The back of the anchor has the makers mark CALDWELL & CO. / PAT D 8.11.96. This lot also includes a second yellow-blue ribbon, clearly of more modern manufacture, and perhaps intended as a replacement for the original ribbon, which is a bit faded, lightly stained and has minor fraying, but remains complete.
