An elegant and enticing pattern-only issue, this concept Dollar features a rather different bust for Yuan Shih-kai than is generally encountered for the type that eventually saw circulation. While the more common bust style presents the <em>then</em>-president in a side view to the left, this enchanting specimen instead features him in a three-quarter view to the left, with exquisite detail rendered in his closely-cropped hair and wispy mustache, as well as the wreath and characters reverse that would eventually serve as the adopted design. Very sharply and expertly struck, as one would expect from a Luigi Giorgi-designed pattern issue, and one that displays some subtle pastel toning along with extravagant lustrous brilliance. An <strong>EXTREMELY RARE</strong> opportunity, especially so wondrously preserved and without issue.
