This wholesome looking ingot displays rich slate patina with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices and crevasses. The central and outer stamps are deeply applied with bold inscriptions and the assay stamps are nicely centered with complete inscriptions. Minor earthen deposits amongst the devices and crevasses offer much originality.It is interesting to note that the bank stamps are more compact than normally encountered, while the assay stamps appear to be a bit wider. More in depth research is needed to determine if these characteristics hold any significance in being able pinpoint a period of manufacture.
