1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-27. Rarity-5. Head of 1794. Poor-1 (PCGS). Maris Egeria variety, as noted on the PCGS insert, and named after the elusive and secretive wife of the legendary King Numa of Rome; according to Dr. Sheldon, this name was given because the variety is so difficult to find in good condition. This is a very well-worn example, the reverse of which is blank, yet still easily attributable thanks to the distinctive portrait and spacing of the word LIBERTY on the obverse. PCGS# 35546. NGC ID: 223M. To view all items from the Sandra Kay Collection of Sheldon Varieties, click<a href="https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots?sort=auction_date_lot_number_asc&search=From+the+Sandra+Kay+Collection+of+Sheldon+Varieties&limit=36&lots_range=upcoming/"target=’_blank’> here. From the Sandra Kay Collection of Sheldon Varieties.
