1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-36. Rarity-5. Head of 1794. Good-4 (PCGS). Deep charcoal-copper patina lightens to more of a tannish-rose hue in the center of the reverse, where the denomination ONE CENT is mostly illegible. All other design elements are at least partially discernible, the word LIBERTY high and the bust resting on the digit 4 in the date to confirm this obverse die. The high inner berry at the letter O in ONE on the reverse clinches the Sheldon-36 attribution (this obverse die also appears in the NC-1 pairing). PCGS# 901374. NGC ID: 223M. To view all items from the Sandra Kay Collection of Sheldon Varieties, click<a href="https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots?sort=auction_date_lot_number_asc&search=From+the+Sandra+Kay+Collection+of+Sheldon+Varieties&limit=36&lots_range=upcoming/"target=’_blank’> here. From the Sandra Kay Collection of Sheldon Varieties.
