Obverse: Young male athlete sitting on parallel bars at left, another male youth, crouched, shooting a rifle at right, winged victory flying above, blowing trumpet and awarding a laurel crown; indistinct flora and military imagery in background and a rising sun on the horizon; Reverse: Blank escutcheon on a monument with broken pediment, laurel sprigs around the perimeter, Gallic cock above. Another medal of the period linking sport and military preparedness.
