Obverse: Two harvesters, one sharpening scythe, the other tying a bundle of grain, grain in background at left, horse-drawn cart with gathered bundles in background at upper right; anepigraphic; Reverse: Inset central field with legend, woman at right picking grapes above, baskets of harvested produce at lower left, blank escutcheon in exergue below. Canton Saumur-Nord-Oest was an administrative entity in the Maine-et-Loire department from 1833 to 1967.
