A most unusual piece, Syd Martin believes that, in place of the A mintmark, this piece exhibits a sunburst <em>different</em> at the lower obverse border. Alternately, the mintmark might just be broad and misshapen from chipping of the die. Even medium brown patina with the legends generally legible, although isolated peripheral areas are soft.
