1859 Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-105. Rarity-2. MS-64+ (PCGS). CAC.A wonderfully original example dressed in a base of antique silver-gray iridescence. Peripheral toning in sandy-olive and blue-gray on the reverse assumes a more mottled distribution throughout the obverse. Sharply struck with a full endowment of soft satin luster. Although often regarded as a "common date" for its type, the 1859 is actually a scarcer Philadelphia Mint issue in the later Stars Obverse Liberty Seated dime series, the mintage relatively limited at 429,200 circulation strikes.PCGS# 4619.
