MEXICO. Cob 8 Reales, 1(732)-Mo F. Mexico City Mint. Philip V. Grade: VERY FINE Details. KM-47a. Weight: 23.08 gms. This crude and charming example displays a partial shield with bold complete mint mark and assayer letter. There is a four digit date on the flan, though only shadows of the last three digits remain. The reverse offers a complete cross with nearly complete lions and castles. Like many from this wreck, the present piece does exhibit a fair amount of metal loss from prolonged saltwater emersion. Despite its shortcomings a presentable entry level example of a shipwreck recovery with a certificate of authenticity. Recovered from the wreck of the Vliegenthart, Certificate number 85.919.
