1817 Matron Head Cent. N-13. Rarity-1. 13 Stars. AU-58 (PCGS). An undeniably Mint State cent by any reasonable standard. Boldly lustrous steel and light olive surfaces with no trace of wear and only a few minor abrasions. Just a tad softly struck at the upper leaves of the wreath. Includes a PCGS MS63BN label and was graded MS-60 per EAC standards by Bob Grellman. An outstanding example of a variety that is common overall, but rather scarce in high grade as it wasnt heavily represented in the Randall Hoard. PCGS# 36586. From the John McBride Collection. Earlier ex Tom Reynolds, May 2004; Rod Burress, June 2004; Goldbergs January 2015 Pre-Long Beach Auction, lot 462.
