The relationship between the Turgesh and Tang Dynasty was tied with inter-marriages and were an important force in maintaining the safety of the Silk Road. The cash coins were said to have been minted during and likely after the reign of supreme leader Suluk. Its shape was heavily influenced by Sogdian coins, which were in turn imitative of Tang Dynasty s Kaiyuan Tongbao , highlighting widespread Chinese economic and cultural dominance in Eurasia during the era.
