GREAT BRITAIN. Great Britain - Mexico. Dollar, ND (1797). George III. PCGS Genuine--Graffiti, AU Details. Countermark: AU Details. S-3765A; KM-632. Bank of England issue. Type I Countermark; bust of George III within oval indent on a 1788-Mo FM Mexico 8 Reales of Charles III. This example boasts a deeply punched countermark on the bust of Charles III and a clarity somewhat uncommon on these Bank of England issues. The surfaces provide a nice glossy shimmer and the host coin shows very little evidence of technical wear. Despite the noted graffiti in the left obverse field, this example provides a presentable example of an always popular type. To view all items from the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection, click here. From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection.
