1927-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar. MS-64+ (PCGS). This satiny and lustrous near-Gem half dollar is decorated with lively, mottled champagne-gold iridescence over the obverse. This deepens somewhat on the reverse to crimson and royal blue at selected places at the rims. The strike is fairly sharp with soft but notable hand and head details on the obverse. Marks of any measure are basically absent, even under low magnification. From the first year of the denomination produced since 1923, and like the 1923-S half dollar, the 1927-dated half dollars were all produced in San Francisco. A visually pleasing and physically sound near-Gem Walking Liberty half dollar. PCGS# 6587. NGC ID: 24RA.
