CHINA. Tibet. Su Charkra Vijaya Tangka, ND (ca. 1763-85). PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, AU Details. KM-C-A10. A VERY RARE early type, this deeply toned example shows minor earthen deposits amongst the devices and some light surface granularity as indicated on the PCGS insert. The devices are bold and well-defined, save for a slight weakness in the obverse central inscription. Despite its shortcomings this handsome survivor, struck on a broad flan, is sure to see spirited bidding from many advanced collectors.

Often referred to as a "Su Chara Vijaya" Tangka, the central inscription meaning "Victorious Wheel" is written in Tibetan Seal Script. The design of this issue is representative the "Wheel of law" or "Wheel of religion" consisting of eight diamond spokes. This is in reference to the "Eightfold path", an important element of Buddhist teachings.
