曹锟于1923年担任大总统，任期较短，而此章即是在1923年铸成。他公然以5,000银元贿赂国会成员而登上大总统之位， 其腐败横行的政府招致了许多反对，最终在1924年10 月，曹锟政府被军阀冯玉祥发起的政变推翻。</em><p>

Tsao Kuns short presidency began in October 1923, after he openly bribed the National Assembly members with $5,000 in silver dollars to gain the office. This blatant act of corruption resulted in rival factions turning against him, with Tsao Kun eventually being ousted in a coup led by General Feng Yuxiang in October 1924.</em><p>
