A.P. BOYNTON on an 1835 Capped Bust dime. Brunk B-993, Rulau IL-Ch B2. Host coin About Good. Andrew Parker Boynton (d.1906) was a watchmaker and jeweler who worked in Chicago, IL. He was located at 12th & State and at 282 1/2 State Street. According to Brunk, he made pocket watches up until 1872 and was in a partnership with his brother Austin Boynton at one point in time. He most likely stamped coins during the late 1840s or early 1850s, as there are no examples reported with a date later than 1849. No other bust dimes are reported by Brunk for this stamp, so this is a new example. From the Steve M. Tompkins Collection.
