1934年罗斯柴尔德父子皇家造币厂银锭 Rothschild & Sons Royal Mint Refinery Silver Ingot
1934 N.M. Rothschild & Sons Royal Mint Refinery Silver Ingot. No. 10. Lot R35889. 1,058.3 / 1,045.8 Ounces. 996 Fine.Trapezoid shape: 297 mm x 100 mm x 88 mm top, 332 mm x 135 mm x 88 mm bottom. This is certainly one of the most impressive and exciting ingots that we have ever had the privilege of bringing to auction. Curiously for a silver ingot, the bottom face has the greatest dimensions and is the face upon which most of the stamps have been applied. At the right side are the makers hallmark and lot number R35889, the date 1934 is at the top center, one expression of the weight 1058 3 is in the upper left corner, and the lower left corner has the fineness 996. All stamps are firmly and evenly applied. At one end is the ingot number 10, and at the other end is the letter T and another expression of the weight 1 04 5 8. On the end with the number 10 is a clipped corner upon which is a second, albeit partial impression of the makers hallmark, showing the RMR monogram most clearly. The bottom face also has a prominent letter E applied in grease near the date. Dominant pinkish-silver patina overall, with wisps of warmer toning here and there, minor casting imperfections and some handling marks scattered about.Established in 1852, the Royal Mint Refinery was operated by N.M. Rothschild & Sons for more than 100 years. By the time it ceased operations in 1968, the Refinery developed such a stellar reputation that it was processing much of the gold and silver bullion sent to London from around the world. After a 47-year hiatus, the Royal Mint revived the Royal Mint Refinery brand in 2015. Dating from an important era in the history of the Royal Mint Refinery -- the period of time between the First and Second World Wars -- this large and imposing silver ingot would serve as a highlight in any collection. It would also make a fascinating conversation piece and is sure to impress anyone who has the privilege of seeing it in person.
