This variety, one of the series with the portrait of Edward Everett, exists only to the extent of 30 pieces per our estimate. The present variety is the last in the series. This bright note borders on an Extremely Fine grade with light even circulation and problem free paper for the technical grade. A bright small red scalloped Treasury Seal is placed at the right of center and serial numbers in blue are seen at lower left and upper right on number protectors. Ornate styling is seen at the left end of face and includes heavy floral designs and a large "50" counter and "FIFTY" vertically below. The reverse is bright and attractive. This particular note was last sold in our August 2013 ANA auction where it realized $43,125. The most recently offered note, A PCGS Currency AU 53 PPQ, sold in our November 2020 sale for $72,00.From the Tarzan Collection.
