Six large POCs along the signature lines. National Bank Note Co. Printed on India paper and mounted to cardstock. Columbia standing at center with shield and sunrays below. Unknown girl at left. "FIVE" in cartouche at both left and right. Vivid red ink surrounds this note. The bank was organized in 1829 and it survived until becoming the Wyoming National Bank of Wilkes-Barre, charter #732. The Newman note was an average-looking PCGS Apparent About New 50 and it still topped $600. We sold this same note for $2,232.50 in our 2013 March Baltimore sale. One of only a couple known.
