UMAYYAD: AE fals (3.76g), Jayy, AH97, A-201.1, both obverse & reverse design adopted from the contemporary gold dinar, but with a very different reverse central legend al-hamd lillah / rabb / al- alimayn, Fine, RRRR. This is the second known Umayyad fals from an eastern mint dated before the first normal-dated issues at al-Basra and al-Kufa in AH100, and Jayy in 101. The other example is dated 95, without mint name, although there is also a 95 fals of Kirman with normal Arabic on one side (with date & mint), but a Pahlavi legend on the other side.
