Fr-2; KM-56; Cal-Type 178 # 993; Cayon-7951; Grove-449; Oro Macuquino-135 (plate coin); Onza-135 (plate coin). The single second finest certified of the date of only two listed on the NGC population report, none at PCGS. Crowned arms of Spain, consisting of Castile and Leon, Catalonia - Aragon, Sicily, Granada, Austria, Burgundy, Brabant, Flanders and Tyrol; denomination "VII" right (mostly off flan), mintmark and assayers letter "oxML" left; partial legend around; Reverse: Box-tipped cross with fleurs-de-lis in quarters all within shaped border within beaded border, partial legend around. A nicely preserved example of this highly desirable type exhibiting a nearly full complete shield, mintmark and assayers letter and bold full four digit date coupled with a decent cross on the reverse. Another high caliber example of this seldom encountered Mexican onza of the ruler displaying many sought after difficult to locate attributes and as such should be considered EXTREMELY RARE. This attractive and wholesome survivor offers good eye appeal displaying a bright soft golden coloration in the outer peripheries and atop of the devices complemented by splashed on pale orange and tawny patina in the protected areas. An fantastic example of the type with nearly complete arms of Spain and a full four-digit date certain to see spirited bidding from advanced Mexican and world gold collectors alike destined for a fine cabinet.
