DENMARK. Krone, 1748. Frederik V. NGC MS-64+. KM-572; Sieg-12.1; H-31A. Variety with low foliage and no horizon line on the reverse. The single finest certified of the date as well as being the third finest certified of the denomination on either the NGC or PCGS population reports, only surpassed by three pieces (1702 MS 65[2] & 1771 MS 66[1]). The state of preservation of this example is quite something special and far nicer than normally encountered for this issue exhibiting a bold crisp strike, smooth satiny luster and lovely light patina with areas of richer coloration on both sides. It is apparent that this piece was plucked from circulation early on and saved; its clear that great care was taken into consideration of this example and sat for a prolonged period of time undisturbed. Examples of this type seldom appear on the market in elite condition such as the present piece and as such should be considered VERY RARE and desirable.
