1805/4 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-102, T-5. Rarity-3. EF-40 (PCGS). CAC. This handsome example is blanketed in a wonderful patina of steel-blue and dark olive shades. The surfaces are smooth and free from distracting abrasions, though an old mark to the right of the date serves as a convenient pedigree marker. This is the second and final use of this obverse die following its employment in the O-101 marriage. A thin crack now meanders up through the tip of Libertys bust, across the lower drapery and meets the crack at star 2. The reverse show similar fatigue, with faint cracks along the tops of TES and AME. From the Naples Bay Collection. From the Naples Bay Collection.
