POMPEY JUNIOR. AR Denarius (3.82 gms), Corduba Mint; Marcus Poblicius, legatus pro praetore, 46-45 B.C. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. Cr-469/1a; CRI-48; Syd-1035. Obverse: Helmeted head of Roma right; Reverse: Hispania standing right, with shield on back, holding two spears over shoulder and presenting palm frond to Pompeian soldier, armed with sword, standing left on prow. A lustrous and fairly well centered example of the type, presenting little in the way of wear or handling as its Near Mint designation would indicate. A definite cut above that which is normally encountered.
