“1862” (ca. 1910) Alaska 2 TooWah token. Original Strike by Nathan Joseph. Bruce-Tn5. 7 Reverse Stars. MS-63 (PCGS). A really attractive specimen of this rare original version. Though dated “1862” and erroneously called a “restrike” by PCGS, the originals were issued in 1910. Restrikes of relatively poor quality were sold by Tatham Stamp and Coin decades later. This one is gold, reportedly 12 karat, and one of three different die varieties known for the 7-reverse star originals. Prooflike with some trivial spotting, but nicely struck for the issue.
