Such will be the case for this modestly circulated and darkly printed Type-1 $5 from this small size only Ketchikan bank. This note had been the finest graded note known on the bank until the appearance of a PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ Star Type-2 $5 which sold in our 2018 ANA auction for an astounding $90,000. Still it remains the second finest example certified for the bank. The current census stands at approximately 35 for this bank that was chartered in September of 1924. A significant small size National which would be a jewel in many collections. Few notes from this bank are found in grades of Very Fine or better and this example is among the best of the best available.
