PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.With just around 110 pieces known, 1928 $500 Gold Certificates are easily considered one of the key notes to any small size U.S. currency collection. Their scarcity is enhanced by the fact that from April 5, 1933 until April 24, 1964 these notes were illegal to own due to an executive order issued by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. PMG has graded just 10 in the Uncirculated category, three of which grade Choice Uncirculated 63. This particular example is quite stunning with a deeply inked impression of the design. The universal back design which is also found on the Federal Reserve Note is quite sharp with a dark green hue generating a lovely contrast to the frosty white paper. A seldom encountered opportunity to acquire this monumental small size type in a lovely Choice Uncirculated grade.
