Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The National Bank of Pennsylvania. June 1st, 1864 $2. PMG Very Good 8.(PA-580 G4a). Hoober 323-39. ABNC imprint. Printed in black with green border prints and protector inks. Man with tools leaning on bust at left. Pennsylvania Coat of Arms upper left. Factory scene upper right. Die counter 2s in top corners. Green and black die counter 2 at bottom right. Green 2 TWO protector at bottom center. This is a rare issuer and a denomination we have not seen for some time. This example is well circulated but all of the design elements remain boldly inked and seen in full detail. The only other $2 note on this bank to be seen in the past couple of decades was also graded Very Good and it realized $1,645 in a 2016 auction. A very rare Deuce and the only one we have sold.
