OCTAVIAN. AR Denarius, Uncertain Mint in Italy, possibly Rome, 32-31 B.C. VERY FINE.CRI-399; RIC-252; RSC-69. Obverse: Bare head right; Reverse: Pax standing left, holding branch and cornucopia. Attractively toned, this pleasing piece offers a fairly well centered strike on a flan of good metal. A bankers mark is noted on the neck, but in no way is distracting to this quality portrait of the man who would become Romes first emperor.
