1882 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. MS-62 (PCGS).This endearing piece exhibits a lovely blend of semi-prooflike luster and vivid golden-rose patina. Sharply struck, as well, with superior quality and eye appeal for the assigned grade. One of several low mintage entries in the later circulation strike three-dollar gold series, the 1882 was produced to the extent of just 1,500 coins. One of no more than 200 or so Mint State survivors, this lovely BU example comes highly recommended for inclusion in an advanced gold cabinet. From the Maurice Snow Collection. Acquired from Manfra, Tordella & Brookes, September 12, 1978.
