1853 Liberty Head Double Eagle. Breen-7160. Repunched Date. AU-55 (PCGS).Attractive honey-gold surfaces are sharply defined, lustrous and uncommonly smooth for a lightly circulated double eagle. Breen-7160 is attributable by repunching to the digit 3 in the date. According to the author (1988) the discovery coin for this variety was offered in the 1975 ANA sale, lot 1592.
