1908 Indian Eagle. No Motto. MS-63 (PCGS).This is a pretty honey and pinkish-gold example with a bold to sharp strike and full mint luster. After the 1911-D, and discounting the Wire Rim and Rounded Rim issues of 1907, the 1908 No Motto is the lowest mintage issue in the circulation strike Indian eagle series. Yet despite the fact that just 33,500 pieces were produced, this issue is only moderately scarce by the standards of the type. Most Uncirculated examples are confined to the MS-60 to MS-63 grade range, however, which fact confirms the significance of the present offering for the value-conscious collector. From the Fairmont Collection.
