1887-S Liberty Head Eagle. MS-63+ (PCGS). CAC.This smartly impressed, fully defined example makes a lovely appearance due to the originality of the rose-gold patina that blankets both sides. With hundreds of low end Mint State coins found in European bank hoards in recent decades, the 1887-S is one of the more plentiful Liberty Head eagles from the 1880s. This is an uncommonly well preserved example, however, and a significant condition rarity that will appeal to advanced gold enthusiasts. From the Fairmont Collection.
