Manhasset, New York. $5 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 607. The First NB. Charter #11924. PCGS Currency New 61 PPQ.A minuscule $355 in large notes were left outstanding from this tough Nassau County bank when the National Currency era ended in 1935. The bank issued $5 Plain Backs only during their large size note issuing days and today ten examples are known to collectors. The present note is the finest graded example. It comes well embossed with dark inks and bold stamped signatures. The paper is choice with just a skewed cut limiting it from a higher numerical grade. From the John Whitney Walter Collection.
