NGC MS-63.Fr-1281. <strong>EXTREMELY RARE</strong> quality for this seldom encountered Doge, this example clearly besting all others seen in archived auction records, with the closest comparable sale being an example that was offered by Numismatica Genevensis in their November 2010 auction as <em>Superbe</em> (hammering at 9000 CHF), but shows several significant scratches in the field to the left of the Christ design. This example, free of any similar imperfections, is nicely centered and evenly struck with light texture in the fields, as is commonplace on these issues, and only the occasional instance of handling. An exciting opportunity for the specialist collector thus.NGC MS-63.
