The strike is razor sharp throughout, including a crisp, fully defined D mintmark. Lustrous with warm honey-gold patina, this example would serve as a highlight in an advanced gold cabinet. One of only three mintmarked issues in the Indian quarter eagles, all from the Denver Mint, the 1911-D has the lowest mintage for the type with just 55,680 circulation strikes produced.
